English Language Arts

Fifth grade students will be participating in Reading NC Check-INs 3 times throughout the year in order to prepare for the EOGs at the end of the year. Students should be reading at least 30 minutes every night to practice fluency and reading comprehension, as well as completing any homework given by their teacher for that night. You can work with your student by making sure they are reading, have them read out loud to you, and practice reading comprehension by discussing what they are reading with them. In the box to the right there are links with additional information on Check-INs, resources, and standards.
